Egypt’s intelligence chief, Hassan Rashad, is scheduled to travel to Israel on Tuesday for a series of meetings with Israeli officials aimed at strengthening the fragile US-backed ceasefire in Gaza, state-linked media reported.
According to Extra News, Rashad will also meet with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who is currently in Israel, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to stabilise the region.
The visit comes just over a week into the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which was brokered in the Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh.
