Elderly Man Announces Fight with Younger Brother via Public Microphone

In Bairi Horinmari of Palashbari Upazila, Gaibandha, an elderly man announced through a public microphone that he would fight with his younger brother. A video of this unusual incident has gone viral on social media.

According to locals, Kaddus Mia used a rickshaw on Thursday afternoon to drive around the village with a microphone, announcing that after Friday’s Jumma prayer, he would confront his younger brother Habijar in a face-to-face fight. He chose this unusual method to inform the entire village.

Kaddus Mia stated that the brothers had been in a long-standing dispute over betel leaf garden land. This time, he decided to resolve it through a direct confrontation.

The announcement caused a stir among villagers, and within moments, the video went viral on Facebook.

Locals mentioned that disputes over land between the brothers were not new, but announcing a fight using a microphone was unprecedented. Villagers commented that while quarrels are common, renting a microphone to broadcast them is a new trend.

Palashbari police took notice of the matter. OC Zulfikar Ali Bhutto said that the elder brother Abdul Kaddus Mia was called to the police station, and a settlement was reached between the two brothers. Kaddus Mia admitted his mistake and said it was not appropriate to announce such a fight using a microphone.
