An elderly man tragically lost his life due to electrocution during a wedding ceremony in Gunai village, under Baniachang upazila in Habiganj district on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Bishu Pal, aged 64, was a resident of the same village.
According to reports, Bishu Pal accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire that was part of the wedding preparations at his residence. Family members and neighbours immediately rushed him to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, where the attending physician pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Kabir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Baniachang Police Station, confirmed the incident.
The community mourns the sudden loss, which has cast a shadow over the celebratory event.
