In preparation for the upcoming national elections, the Election Commission (EC) will publish the draft list of polling centres across the country on 10 September. Following this, claims and objections regarding the draft will be accepted until 25 September, after which the commission will resolve these matters by 12 October. The final list of polling centres is scheduled to be published on 20 October.
This information was conveyed in a letter sent to district election officers on Wednesday (20 August). The letter, signed by Deputy Secretary of the Election Commission, Md. Mahbub Alam Shah, stated that the “Polling Centre Establishment and Management Policy 2025” has already been approved by the commission and was officially gazetted on 26 June.
According to Article 8 (1) and (2) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (RPO), the final list of polling centres must be prepared and published in the official gazette at least 25 days prior to the election. Based on this requirement, the EC has directed the publication of area-wise draft lists, the settlement of claims and objections, and the preparation of the final list.
