Election Commission to Publish Draft Voter List Today

In preparation for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Election Commission (EC) is set to publish the updated draft voter list today, Sunday, 10 August. The draft list will provide a 12-day window for voters to request corrections if any errors are found in their details.

Officials from the EC’s National Identity Registration Subdivision confirmed this information on Saturday, 9 August.

This year’s update includes the addition of around 4.4 million new voters. Their details will be published in the supplementary draft list. Upazila officials will display these lists at designated public places for scrutiny.

Following the publication of the supplementary list, eligible voters may submit applications for inclusion, removal of deceased or ineligible voters, transfer of voter registration, or any corrections to errors and discrepancies. Applications must be filed using the prescribed forms (Form-2, Form-12, Form-13, and Form-14) by 21 August.

The submitted applications will be processed and resolved by the respective Upazila/Thana Election Officers and Registration Officers by 24 August. After completing these processes, the final voter list will be published on 31 August.

At present, the total number of registered voters in the country stands at approximately 123.7 million. Additionally, those who will attain the age of 18 by 31 October are also eligible to be included in the voter list for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
