Election Commissioner Brigadier (Retd.) Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah has indicated that the roadmap for the upcoming National Parliament elections could be unveiled on Sunday, 24 August.
On Thursday, 21 August, the Election Commission convened a meeting to finalise the roadmap for the parliamentary elections. The meeting took place at the Election Commission Secretariat in Agargaon, Dhaka, starting at 2:30 pm, with four election commissioners and senior officials of the EC Secretariat in attendance.
During a break at around 5:00 pm, Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah told journalists that the roadmap might be briefed to the media on Sunday.
“We have begun the meeting to discuss our action plan. Since there are many matters to cover, it may not be possible to conclude today. In that case, we may have to wait until Sunday or Monday,” he said.
Sanaullah further explained that after discussions with the commissioners and officials, the overall progress will be reported to the Chief Election Commissioner.
“The final plan will be announced subsequently, once the Chief Election Commissioner has reviewed the consolidated progress,” he added.
