On Monday, Nasiruddin Patwary, Chief Coordinator of the National Coordination Party (NCP), declared that the era of political subjugation in the country has come to an end. Speaking after visiting the grave of the martyred Osman Hadi, Patwary emphasised that “the days of a rights-deprived political system are over. Our eleven-party alliance will work solely for the cause of freedom.”
Patwary’s statement comes amid widespread concern over the unresolved murder of Osman Hadi, a case widely regarded as a stark reflection of the judiciary’s ongoing failures. “We must reinvigorate Hadi’s vision of justice and continue the struggle for freedom with renewed determination,” Patwary asserted.
In discussions with journalists, he highlighted persistent administrative inconsistencies and the long-standing inefficiencies of the judicial system. “Those responsible for Hadi’s murder have yet to face justice, posing a grave threat to our democratic principles,” he warned. Patwary called upon citizens to unite in defence of justice and national sovereignty.
In a significant announcement, he revealed plans to designate Dhaka’s Shahbagh and Ramna areas (Dhaka-8) as a “Freedom Zone.” He cautioned that any acts of terrorism, extortion, or intimidation in this area would not be tolerated. Citizens, including students, professionals, and the general public, were urged to actively resist injustice.
Patwary also stressed that the alliance would remain active until all political murders, particularly Osman Hadi’s case, are thoroughly investigated and adjudicated. Expressing concern over the administration’s partiality, he stated, “We envision a Bangladesh where no one serves as a puppet of power.”
Looking ahead, the eleven-party alliance intends to engage the public directly through planned campaigns, advocating for the implementation of demands, and steering the nation towards a free, accountable, and responsible governance system.
The alliance’s core objectives are summarised as follows:
| Key Aspect | Details |

Patwary’s announcements have made it clear that this initiative transcends mere political activity. It represents a unified call for justice, the protection of citizens’ dignity, and the establishment of a responsible and accountable state.
