Ex-Lux Beauty Star Tanzia Anjum Sohania Named UNO of Kishoreganj, Nilphamari

Former Lux beauty pageant contestant Tanzia Anjum Sohania has recently assumed her duties as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kishoreganj in Nilphamari. Sohania was previously serving as Deputy Director (Senior Assistant Secretary) in the Coordination and Parliamentary Division of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority.

Sohania participated in the Channel i Lux Superstar competition in 2010 and was selected among the top ten contestants. She also won the Closeup Miss Beautiful Smile category. Following this, she undertook a few projects in showbiz but did not pursue it regularly, focusing instead on her studies.

The former Lux beauty, a student of Political Science at Dhaka University, joined the 37th BCS Administration Cadre. She received her cadre appointment recommendation in the official government notification dated 20 March 2019.

Ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections, the government appointed new UNOs in 77 upazilas during the second phase, including transfers in three of Nilphamari’s six upazilas. Sohania is scheduled to join Kishoreganj today, 4 December.

Sohania’s father, Dr Azizul Haq Khan, is a government official, and her mother, Salma Sultana, is a homemaker. She received a talent pool scholarship in the fifth grade and has been recognised in cultural activities from a young age. She has achieved national awards in singing and solo acting, was runner-up in the National KAB Scout competition, and excelled in dance.

Sohania completed her SSC in science with GPA-5 from Bindubasini Government Girls’ School, Tangail, and HSC in science with GPA-5 from Kumudini Government College. She later enrolled in the Political Science Department at Dhaka University.
