The Election Commission (EC) has finalised the roadmap (work plan) for the upcoming National Parliamentary Elections. On Wednesday, the Commission officially approved the document, and it is scheduled to be formally announced today, Thursday.
According to EC officials, the roadmap specifies the timeline by which the preparatory tasks for the elections must be completed.
During a press briefing at the EC’s Media Centre on Wednesday, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed that the roadmap would be unveiled today. He stated: “At this moment, we are working on certain matters. Perhaps on Thursday we will be able to provide you with more detailed information.”
In response to a question, he added: “The work plan (roadmap) we have prepared will be shared with you.”
Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, a meeting was held at the Election Commission building. It was attended by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin, four Election Commissioners, and the EC Secretary. The roadmap was formally approved in this session.
EC sources indicated that the roadmap outlines the completion schedule for a wide range of tasks crucial to the election process.

Officials explained that all preparatory work is ongoing, and the roadmap will establish clear deadlines for completing these tasks. They believe that the announcement will help reduce public anxiety regarding the upcoming elections.
