Fire Brought Under Control at Chittagong Garment Factory Warehouse

A fire broke out at a garment factory warehouse in Kalurghat, Chittagong city. Four units of the Fire Service rushed to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control by 11 pm.

The fire started on Tuesday (25 November) at around 10 pm, causing panic in the surrounding area.

Anwar Hossain, Assistant Director of the Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that upon receiving the report of the fire, four units from Kalurghat and Chandanpura fire stations joined the firefighting operation.

He added that the fire was later brought under control. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage are not yet known. Detailed information on the damage will be provided after investigation.

Earlier, around 5:15 pm, a fire broke out in the Korail slum in the capital, quickly spreading in all directions. Nineteen units of the Fire Service managed to control the fire after 10:30 pm, which destroyed many houses.
