Fire Erupts Near July Martyrs’ Monument in Satkhira

In Satkhira town, unknown individuals set fire near the July Martyrs’ Monument. A video of the incident circulated on social media on Tuesday (11 November).

The footage shows a young man pouring a substance around the monument and igniting it. Authorities who visited the site confirmed the report, noting signs of fire and the smell of petrol. Fortunately, the monument itself remained undamaged.

Local residents have expressed anger over the incident, stating that the police must be held accountable for failing to identify those responsible despite the incident occurring in the heart of the town.

Meanwhile, the police have said they are yet to confirm the details of the fire and that a full investigation is ongoing.
