Five More Die of Dengue in Last 24 Hours

In the past 24 hours, five people have died from dengue fever transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes across the country. During the same period, 1,139 new patients were admitted to hospitals. This brings the total dengue deaths this year to 336, and the number of confirmed cases to 84,997.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, among those admitted in the last 24 hours, 181 are from Barishal division, 141 from Chattogram division, 246 from Dhaka division, 182 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 118 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 119 from Khulna division, 96 from Mymensingh division, 46 from Rajshahi division, 8 from Rangpur division, and 1 from Sylhet division.

Among the deceased, one was from Dhaka North City Corporation, two from Dhaka South City Corporation, and two from Mymensingh division.

During the same period, 1,199 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 81,442 patients have recovered and been discharged.

In 2024, the total number of dengue patients in the country was 101,214, with 575 deaths. In 2023, the highest number of dengue deaths was 1,705, and 321,179 patients were admitted to hospitals.
