Former Wife Accuses Imad Wasim of Serious Misdeeds

The former spouse of Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has broken her silence following his announcement of a second marriage. Sania Ashfaq took to social media on Monday to issue a stern statement, levelling serious allegations of betrayal and misconduct against the cricketer.

In her Instagram post, Sania described recent events as confirming long-held fears, revealing the profound impact on her family and children. “I can no longer remain silent. Accountability is necessary,” she wrote.

Sania’s post accused Imad of neglecting the welfare of their children. “Now everyone can see the truth. This home-wrecker never once considered the well-being of my children. The deceiver has finally been exposed. I seek justice for my children and for everything we have endured,” she added.

In a particularly grave claim, Sania alleged, “In December 2023, in Lahore, he caused my child to miscarry. He is a killer, and I possess video evidence proving it.” She further urged the public and the cricketing fraternity to boycott the player’s current franchise: “He betrayed me. Islamabad United has given this killer and deceiver an opportunity—do not support him.”

Earlier, Imad Wasim announced via Instagram that he had married Naila Raja. The 37-year-old has represented Pakistan in 55 One Day Internationals and 75 T20 matches.

Reflecting on the period following his first marriage, Imad described it as “one of the most challenging phases of my life,” noting that silence during that time led to undue criticism and misjudgment of Naila. He stated, “With Allah’s mercy and the guidance of my parents, I have now married Naila. After much contemplation and with clear intentions, we aim to build a life based on peace, stability, and mutual respect.”

He added, “Naila has brought peace, dignity, and strength into my life. I stand firmly by this decision.”

Imad Wasim and Sania Ashfaq were married in 2019 and have three children. Their divorce was officially announced in December of last year.
