Four Involved in Geneva Camp Murder Among 14 Arrested in Dhaka

In connection with the recent murder at Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, a joint forces operation has led to the arrest of 14 individuals, including four directly involved in the killing. Domestic weapons, helmets, and narcotics were also seized during the operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Nazim Ahmed, commander of the 46th Independent Brigade, disclosed this information at a press conference held shortly after midnight on Monday (11 August).

  • Fourteen suspects were taken into custody.
  • Among those arrested, four have been confirmed to have direct involvement in the murder incident.

Identification via CCTV Footage

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed stated that the operation targeted individuals identified through CCTV footage captured during violent clashes at the camp over the past two days. Those with direct involvement have been apprehended.

The joint forces will persist in their efforts to curb crime and maintain order at Geneva Camp.

Background of the Incident

Earlier on Monday at around 3 pm, a violent clash erupted between the ‘Bunia Sohel’ and ‘Chua Selim’ groups over drug trafficking and territorial control. The confrontation resulted in the stabbing and death of Shah Alam, aged 22.
