Four More Die of Dengue in Bangladesh as 942 New Patients Admitted in 24 Hours

Bangladesh continues to grapple with a severe dengue outbreak as four more people have died and 942 new patients have been hospitalised in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The data, released on Monday morning, covers the period between 8:00 am Sunday and 8:00 am Monday.

 

According to the DGHS report, all four individuals who died were men, aged 65, 40, 70, and 32 years.
Of these, one was from Dhaka, one from Mymensingh, and two from Rajshahi.

During the same period, 891 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

 

Since the beginning of 2025, a total of 60,791 people have been admitted to hospitals across the country due to dengue.

Out of all admitted patients, 57,702 have recovered and been released from hospital care so far this year.

 

As of now, the total number of dengue-related deaths in 2025 stands at 249.

Despite ongoing medical interventions, dengue infections remain alarmingly high, with Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Barishal divisions among the most affected.
Health authorities continue to urge citizens to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and seek medical attention at the earliest sign of symptoms to prevent further fatalities.
