Australia has already secured the ODI series title against India with one match remaining. However, the selectors have made several changes to the squad for the final ODI and the upcoming five-match T20 series.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell makes his return to the Australian team after a long break. Having recovered from a wrist injury, he is set to play in the last three matches of the T20 series against India. Maxwell had sustained the injury during practice before the tour of New Zealand last September.

Ben Dwarshuis will miss the ODI series and the first three T20s due to a calf muscle injury but is expected to return for the last two games. Josh Philippe, the wicketkeeper, also returns to the side. The revised T20 squad includes a new face — Mahli Beardman, a 20-year-old fast bowler who has been in excellent form recently.

Beardman, a former Australia Under-19 player, has taken 12 wickets in his last four matches for Western Australia in domestic cricket, with an economy rate of 5.75. His express pace has made him one of Australia’s most promising young talents.

Meanwhile, three players — Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Hazlewood, and Sean Abbott — will rest from white-ball cricket to prepare for the upcoming Ashes series starting on November 21. They will play red-ball matches for their respective state sides instead.

Labuschagne is expected to represent Queensland in the Sheffield Shield against New South Wales at the Gabba. Hazlewood and Abbott will miss the end of the India T20 series to play for New South Wales against Victoria. Hazlewood will feature in the first two matches, while Abbott — returning from a hand injury — will leave after the third T20.

The final ODI squad also sees changes. Jack Edwards, the New South Wales all-rounder, earns his maiden ODI call-up. Left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann returns after missing the second ODI in Adelaide, while Josh Inglis is back from a calf injury.

Australia ODI squad:
Mitchell Marsh (capt), Xavier Bartlett, Alex Carey (wk), Cooper Connolly, Jack Edwards, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis (wk), Matt Kuhnemann, Mitchell Owen, Josh Philippe (wk), Matt Renshaw, Matt Short, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa.
