The price of gold in Bangladesh continues its upward streak. Out of the last five price adjustments, the rate has increased four times — with a total rise of Tk 8,375 per bhori (11.664 grams) over the most recent three consecutive revisions.
In a notice issued on Tuesday night (11 November), the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced yet another hike — the third in a row. The price of gold has been raised by Tk 4,188 per bhori, effective from Wednesday (12 November).
According to the BAJUS statement, the decision to raise prices was made after a rise in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market.

The association also stated that a 5% government-imposed VAT and a minimum 6% BAJUS-determined making charge must be added to the selling price. However, the making charge may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
Previously, on 10 November, BAJUS had increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,507 per bhori, setting it at Tk 204,283.
With the latest adjustment, gold prices in Bangladesh have now been revised 75 times this year — 52 increases and 23 decreases. In 2024, prices were adjusted 62 times, of which 35 were increases and 27 were reductions.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged.

So far this year, silver prices have been adjusted nine times — rising six times and dropping three times. Last year, silver rates were adjusted only three times.
