In the domestic market, gold will be sold at 2,07,957 taka per tola today, Monday (27 October). On Sunday (26 October), the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) reduced the price by 1,039 taka per tola.
According to a BAJUS notice, considering the overall market situation and the drop in the price of pure gold, new rates have been set.
Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold per tola (11.664 grams) will be 2,07,957 taka. In addition, 21-carat gold will cost 1,98,498 taka per tola, 18-carat gold 1,70,143 taka per tola, and traditional gold 1,41,496 taka per tola.
BAJUS also stated that the sale price of gold must include the government-mandated 5 percent VAT and the BAJUS-determined minimum labor charge of 6 percent. However, labor charges may vary depending on jewelry design and quality.
Previously, on 22 October, BAJUS adjusted gold prices. On that day, the price of 22-carat gold per tola was reduced by 8,386 taka to 2,08,996 taka. The price per tola for 21-carat gold was 1,99,501 taka, 18-carat gold 1,70,994 taka, and traditional gold 1,42,219 taka. The new rates came into effect from 23 October.
