Green Delta Insurance, Wagely Launch Digital Coverage

Dhaka, 15 February 2026Green Delta Insurance PLC has partnered with Wagely to launch a pioneering Digital Nano Insurance initiative aimed at Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) workforce. This collaboration seeks to provide affordable health coverage to over 250,000 Wagely users and their families, making comprehensive medical protection accessible at a cost of less than one US dollar per person.

The newly introduced insurance covers both inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) services, marking a significant step in enhancing social security for RMG workers. The programme is expected to improve workforce resilience, reduce financial vulnerability from medical expenses, and contribute to the broader goal of financial wellness in the sector.

The formal agreement was signed through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by Syed Forhad Abbas Hussain, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Underwriting at Green Delta Insurance PLC, and Noor Elahi, Managing Director of Wagely. Both leaders emphasised the transformative potential of the partnership, highlighting its alignment with efforts to strengthen social protection for one of Bangladesh’s most vital economic sectors.

“Affordable, easy-to-access health insurance is a critical need for RMG workers and their families. By leveraging digital platforms, we can deliver protection directly to those who need it most,” said Hussain. Elahi added, “This partnership demonstrates our commitment to improving financial security and well-being for garment workers, whose contributions are the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy.”

The Digital Nano Insurance initiative is designed to be highly accessible, ensuring workers can enrol with minimal paperwork while receiving coverage that addresses both routine medical needs and unforeseen health emergencies.
