Dhaka, 6 October 2025 – Hamza Dewan Chowdhury arrived in Dhaka this morning to play in Bangladesh’s Asian Cup qualifying match against Hong Kong on 9 October. The English Premier League player departed from England last night (Bangladesh time) and landed at the airport around 11:00 am today.
Hamza was greeted at the airport by Kamrul Hasan Hilton, an executive member of the Bangladesh Football Federation. After completing formalities, Hamza proceeded promptly to the team’s hotel, InterContinental Dhaka. Following a few hours of rest, he is scheduled to join team training later this afternoon.
Hamza first played for Bangladesh during the March international window, when he returned to the country from abroad. The Silhet airport was packed with fans eager to welcome him. His hometown, Habiganj, also saw large crowds during that visit.
During the June international window, there was similar excitement for his home matches. On both occasions in March and June, Hamza’s parents attended matches to watch him play live at the stadium.
For this trip, Hamza has arrived alone. After playing in Dhaka on 9 October, he will return to Hong Kong the following day. He is then scheduled to fly back to England after the Hong Kong match on 14 October.
So far, Hamza has played three matches for Bangladesh:
| Date | Opponent | Match Type | Note |
| Asian Cup Qualifier | India | Official | Played in Dhaka |
| Asian Cup Qualifier | Singapore | Official | Played in Dhaka |
| Friendly | Bhutan | Friendly | Scored 1 goal on 4 June in Dhaka |
The match against Hong Kong on 9 October will mark Hamza’s fourth appearance in the Bangladesh jersey.
