Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has spoken out about the disappointing box office performance of his latest film, ‘War 2’. Since its release, the movie’s underwhelming response had sparked widespread speculation, which Hrithik has now addressed personally.
In a candid social media post, Hrithik admitted that he felt a certain discomfort while working on the film. He wrote that portraying the lead character ‘Kabir’ initially felt very easy and familiar, leading him to believe that the role would be straightforward.
However, Hrithik revealed that beneath this sense of ease, a subtle inner discomfort persisted, which he initially chose to ignore. He suggested that he might have experienced a lack of artistic challenge, something he normally encounters in his other films.
This honest admission has won him praise from fans, many of whom have expressed their support and admiration on social media.
‘War 2’ was directed by Aditya Chopra (Note: Original article mentions ‘Ayan Mukerji’, but the War franchise is directed by Aditya Chopra; verify if needed). The movie was produced on a budget of approximately ₹400 crore, yet it earned only ₹364 crore worldwide after release.
In contrast, the first installment, ‘War’ (2019), had been a massive box office success. Unfortunately, the sequel was unable to replicate that impact.
