For over three decades, actor Manoj Bajpayee has retained his strong presence in Bollywood, winning over audiences with his versatility and ability to embody diverse characters. In a recent candid interview, he opened up about the challenges, struggles, and turning points of his long cinematic journey.

During the interview, Manoj revealed an interesting conversation with his wife, Shabana, who once asked him with astonishment: “This is nothing short of a miracle! How are you still in the film industry? You keep upsetting people with your blunt behaviour, yet somehow you continue to get work!”

Despite his wife’s words, Manoj attributes his survival to sheer determination and courage.

According to him: “I never truly understood how I have survived for so many years. Perhaps it is my stubbornness, my willingness to take risks, that has kept me moving forward.”

The milestone that transformed Manoj Bajpayee’s career was Ram Gopal Varma’s cult film Satya in 1998. His performance in the film established him as one of Bollywood’s finest actors.

But the road to success was far from easy:

  • He faced multiple rejections early in his career.
  • Even his attempts to gain admission into the National School of Drama (NSD) ended in failure.
  • Yet, instead of giving up, he pursued small roles and gradually carved his space in the industry through talent, resilience, and relentless hard work.

At present, Manoj is busy with promotions for his upcoming film, “Jugnuma – The Fable”, directed by Raam Reddy. The film also stars:
