Bangladeshi actress Mahia Mahi has clarified that she is not divorced from her politician husband Rakib Ghosh, nearly a year and a half after publicly announcing their separation. Her revelation resolves lingering confusion among fans and the media regarding her personal life.

Background of Mahia Mahi’s Marriages

YearSpouseDuration / Notes
2016Parvez Mahmud Apu (Silhet businessman)Married in a lavish ceremony; five-year marriage
2021Rakib Ghosh (politician)Married post-divorce from Apu; public confusion over separation

In 2023, Mahi had told the media that despite attempts to make their marriage work, she and Rakib Ghosh had separated. At that time, she stated: “We both tried, but when we saw it wasn’t working, I let go. It’s better to remain friends than stay together bitterly. He is Farish’s father, and we still communicate regularly about Farish’s needs. He’s a very caring person. While we don’t have a personal relationship, he is a wonderful father.”

Mahi had praised Rakib for his character, saying: “Rakib is a good and altruistic person. But our patterns are different—that’s it.”

Now, Mahi has made it clear that no divorce has taken place. She explained: “I spoke about divorce in anger. Actually, we are not divorced, and we remain in regular contact.”

Although Mahi currently resides in the United States, her husband’s whereabouts are unknown. She addressed fans’ curiosity over recent photos of them together, explaining: “The picture was taken in India some time ago but wasn’t released then. Now that Wikipedia incorrectly shows that we are divorced, I posted the photo to clear misunderstandings. Our passports also state we are ‘married’ with my husband Rakib Ghosh. We are doing well.”

Over the past year and a half, Mahi’s conflicting statements on her marital status have caused confusion among fans, entertainment circles, and well-wishers. Some speculate that her statements may be linked to residency or citizenship applications in the United States, though this remains unconfirmed.

Amid personal developments, Jaaz Multimedia has announced a new film starring Mahi in the lead role. The movie, titled “Ontorjami”, marks her return to Dhallywood after previously declaring she would step away from acting to pursue a political career.

Mahi’s clarification is expected to settle doubts about her personal life while she focuses on both her film comeback and ongoing communication with her family.
