Identity of the Man in the Red T-shirt Identified

The man in the red T-shirt, who attacked the leaders and activists of Gono Adhikar Parishad in front of the National Party’s central office in Kakrail, has been identified as a police constable, according to Gono Adhikar Parishad General Secretary Rashed Khan.

On Saturday (30th August), Rashed Khan posted on his Facebook account, stating: “The person in the red shirt is a police constable. His name is Mizanur Rahman, BP No. 9717197243. He attacked student leader Samrat.”

Earlier, in a separate Facebook post, Rashed Khan wrote: “The person in the red shirt who was seen attacking is not Nurul Haq Nur, but student leader Samrat. There is no justification for blaming the person in the red shirt or giving legitimacy to the attack on Nurul Haq Nur and other activists. Those in the army who attacked Nurul Haq Nur must be brought to justice. They even entered our office, broke the bathroom, and brutally injured several activists.”

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Mir Asaduzzaman, had commented on the matter, stating that the police were actively searching for the person in the red T-shirt who had attacked the Gono Adhikar leaders during the incident. “We have several teams working on quickly identifying him,” he had added.
