In the 74th edition, Bangladesh’s representative contestant Tanzia Zaman Mithila leads with 1,039,000 votes. This has been confirmed by the national-level beauty pageant platform Miss Universe Bangladesh. The official page announced this news on Monday (17 November).

Sharing a photo of Mithila, Miss Universe Bangladesh Director Mustafa Islam Duke wrote in the caption, “Congratulations Bangladesh. We have now received 1,039,000 votes. At the same time yesterday, Tanzia Zaman Mithila had 739,000 votes. Within 24 hours, 300,000 votes were added. History has been made in Bangladesh.”

This competition has the power to completely change the lives of its winners.

The annual international beauty pageant is organised by the Thailand- and Mexico-based Miss Universe Organization. From the live broadcast of the final event to subsequent coverage, it is viewed more than 50 crore times in a year, making it one of the most-watched beauty pageants in history. The annual budget of Miss Universe is 100 million dollars.
