India has not yet provided a positive response regarding the repatriation of Sheikh Hasina, who has been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity, said Md Touhid Hossain, the Foreign Affairs Adviser of the interim government. He stated that India is currently examining the tribunal’s verdict, and Bangladesh is awaiting their reaction.
Speaking to the media on Friday morning at the Circuit House during a four-day official visit to the Rangpur region, the adviser shared these remarks.
In response to a journalist’s question regarding the return of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, he said the foreign affairs department has no information about his return to the country. He also mentioned that Tarique Rahman’s wife is scheduled to arrive today.
Additionally, he stated that due to mechanical issues with the air ambulance, it remains impossible to take Begum Khaleda Zia abroad today for advanced medical treatment.
