Barcelona announced on Saturday that centre-back Inigo Martinez will be departing the La Liga champions, with Spanish media reporting that he is set to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Since arriving at Barcelona from Athletic Bilbao in 2023, Martinez made 71 appearances across all competitions, playing a vital role in helping the club secure the Spanish league title last season.
Before joining Barcelona, Martinez spent seven seasons at Real Sociedad after progressing through their academy. He then had a six-year spell with Athletic Bilbao prior to his move to Catalonia.
| Career Timeline | Club | Duration | Notes |
| Real Sociedad | 7 seasons | Academy graduate, senior appearances | |

Martinez has also been capped 21 times by Spain between 2013 and 2023.
Al-Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League last term, with club icon Cristiano Ronaldo ending the season as the league’s top scorer with 25 goals.
The departure of Martinez will relieve some pressure on Barcelona’s wage bill, which has been strained by financial constraints.
