Inquilab Forum Demands Swift Arrest of Osman Hadi’s Killer

In the wake of the brutal and premeditated murder of Sharif Osman Hadi, the cultural organisation Inquilab Forum has once again issued a forceful demand: the principal perpetrator must be apprehended alive without delay, and under no circumstances should the arrest involve a violent shootout or any dramatic spectacle. The organisation conveyed this message explicitly in a post on its verified Facebook page on Sunday night, 21 December.

The post further urged the country’s law enforcement agencies to identify the culprits promptly and ensure they are brought under the full purview of the law without unnecessary delay. Inquilab Forum warned that sensationalised reports circulating on social media and in certain media outlets could fuel public unrest and widespread fear. The organisation called for the arrest process to be conducted in a measured, peaceful, and procedural manner, emphasising the importance of maintaining social stability during this critical period.

Earlier, Inquilab Forum had announced plans to hold a protest march demanding the swift capture of those responsible for Osman Hadi’s killing. According to the post, the demonstration is scheduled for Monday, 22 December, commencing at 3:00 pm from Shahid Hadi Chattar in Shahbagh and proceeding to the Shaheed Minar. Leaders of the forum have stressed that the primary objective of the march is to draw the attention of the authorities and apply sustained pressure for the rapid apprehension of the killer.

Meanwhile, the court has imposed a travel ban on Faisal Karim Masud, also known as Daud Khan Rahul, the prime accused in the killing. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) revealed that more than Tk 127 crore in unusual financial transactions linked to Faisal Karim Masud and his associates have been traced. The CID underlined that tracking these transactions is a crucial element in understanding the financial networks of the main suspects connected to the murder.

Both the organisation and law enforcement authorities hope that a swift, safe, and legally sound arrest will reinforce law and order in the country and restore public confidence. Inquilab Forum reiterated its stance clearly: the demand is not for sensational drama or violent confrontation, but for a calm, lawful, and effective resolution to this high-profile case.
