Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has stated that the foremost responsibility of the second phase of the interim government is to ensure the successful completion of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Elections.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 7 August, at the Secretariat following a meeting of the Advisory Council. The information was relayed to the media by the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam.
According to the Press Secretary, Dr Yunus explained during the meeting that the first phase of the interim government had concluded on 5 August, and the second phase commenced thereafter.
Dr Yunus addressed the advisers, emphasising:
“The government’s chief duty now is to ensure that the elections are held in a fair, impartial, and festive atmosphere.”
New Award to Honour Heroic Teacher
In recognition of teacher Meherin Chowdhury of Milestone School and College—who risked her life to protect students during a fighter jet accident—a proposal to introduce an award in her name has been approved. This initiative was brought forward by the Ministry of Education and endorsed during the Advisory Council meeting.
