Dhaka, Bangladesh – The voting process for the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) Executive Committee election for the 2025-2027 term has been successfully completed. The counting of votes is currently underway.

The election took place at the Shaheed Abu Saeed International Conference Centre, Minto Road, Dhaka, running continuously from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM.

A total of thirteen members will be elected through direct voting: nine from the General Member category and four from the Associate Member category.

Election Oversight

The election board was chaired by Mr. Mohammad Ali, a lawyer at the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Speaking to Prothom Alo, Mr Ali stated:

“Voting started early in the morning and has proceeded smoothly throughout the day. In the General Member category, 228 votes were cast, while 557 Associate Members participated. Overall, a fair and peaceful election has taken place. Voting concluded at 4:30 PM.”

Candidates’ Perspectives

Leaders from both contesting panels expressed satisfaction with the election atmosphere and voter turnout:

Aminul Hakim, leader of one panel, told Prothom Alo:

“The election is being conducted in a festive and vibrant spirit. Our members have travelled from distant places to cast their votes.”

Md. Azharul Haque Chowdhury, leader of another panel, shared:

“The election is proceeding well, with everyone voting in a celebratory environment. Having been involved in this sector for a long time, I am hopeful that if elected, I will contribute positively to its development.”
