Iran Claims Over 220 US Troops Casualties

Tensions in the Middle East intensified over the past 24 hours, with Iran claiming significant losses among US military personnel stationed in the region. According to a spokesperson from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, more than 220 American soldiers and officers have been killed or wounded in recent attacks on US bases and assets.

The announcement was reported by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB on its website, ParsToday, underscoring the escalating confrontation between Tehran and Washington.

Recent Attacks and Casualties

The Iranian spokesperson detailed that the attacks targeted multiple locations, including naval and air installations in the Persian Gulf region:

US Fifth Fleet Naval Base: 21 US personnel killed, several others injured.

Al-Dhafra US Base: Approximately 200 US personnel killed or wounded.

Northern Persian Gulf Oil Vessel: A US-owned tanker was also attacked, resulting in additional casualties.

The spokesperson emphasised that destructive operations against American installations in the region are ongoing, signalling Tehran’s continued commitment to its military campaign.

Iran’s Endurance and Strategic Position

Beyond reporting immediate casualties, Iran has also claimed the capability to sustain its current military operations for at least six months. IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naeini, speaking to the semi-official Fars News Agency, stated:

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are capable of continuing this intense level of conflict for at least six months.”

This declaration underscores Tehran’s message that, despite international pressure and ongoing US–Israel operations, Iran is prepared for prolonged military engagement.

Regional Implications

Analysts warn that such claims, whether fully verified or not, serve both domestic and international strategic purposes. Domestically, they aim to bolster morale and convey strength to the Iranian population. Internationally, they signal to the US, Israel, and regional actors that Iran retains operational capacity to strike key military and economic targets in response to continued pressure.
