Iran Warns of Retaliation Against Foreign Forces

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a stern warning that any foreign ground forces entering Iranian territory will be destroyed. Speaking in an exclusive interview with the U.S. media outlet NBC, he emphasised that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to confront any adversary.

Araghchi stated, “Our brave soldiers stand ready. Anyone who sets foot on Iranian soil will be met with decisive destruction.” He underlined Iran’s capacity to manage current regional tensions, asserting that the nation’s military is equipped to respond effectively to threats.

Reflecting on Iran’s millennia-old Persian heritage, he added, “For thousands of years, Iran has defended its land and will continue to do so in the future.”

The minister also framed Iran’s recent military actions as legitimate self-defence. He argued that attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East were in direct response to hostilities initiated by the United States and Israel. “This is not a war of our choosing. It has been imposed upon us by the actions of the United States and Israel,” he said.

Describing the ongoing conflict as “unprovoked, irrational, and illegal,” Araghchi reinforced that Iran’s countermeasures are targeted specifically at U.S. military installations, assets, and facilities across the region. He hinted that even bases located within the territories of neighbouring countries could be considered potential targets if involved in regional operations.
