Israel Struck by Missile Barrage Amid Trump-Iran Diplomacy Claims

In a dramatic escalation of the ongoing Middle East conflict, Iran launched successive missile strikes against Israeli territory on Tuesday, injuring civilians and causing significant structural damage, according to reports from Israeli media and international agencies.

The attacks came shortly after United States President Donald Trump publicly asserted that Washington had held “very good” and “productive” talks with Iranian representatives about ending the broader war — claims Tehran has emphatically denied.

Casualties and Damage in Israel

Israeli outlets, including Haaretz, reported that at least six people were wounded in the missile barrage targeting the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. Residential buildings, roads and vehicles were damaged when several missiles struck urban districts, prompting emergency services to rush to the scenes.

In the Rosh HaAyin area, remnants of downed projectiles caused limited destruction but no reported injuries. The Israeli Home Front Command confirmed multiple missile launches from Iranian territory, some of which also impacted the country’s north. Rescue units have been deployed across the affected regions.

Diplomatic Claims vs Denials

President Trump’s remarks on Monday suggested recent U.S.–Iran discussions had achieved significant points of agreement, with a proposal to delay planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure by five days — a move he framed as a step toward “total resolution of hostilities.”

However, Iranian officials — including state news outlets — have dismissed any such dialogue as “fake news,” insisting that no direct or indirect negotiations have occurred with Washington. Tehran’s denial has fuelled scepticism about Trump’s assertions and raised questions over the true state of diplomatic engagement.

Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high, with missile exchanges and air strikes forming part of the wider 2026 conflict between Israel, Iran and their respective allies, which erupted in late February following a breakdown in earlier negotiations.
