Jagannath University (JUB) celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Saturday with its central congregation led by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Raees Uddin. The Eid prayer took place at 8:30 am in the university’s central mosque, drawing a large gathering of worshippers from across the campus community.
Faculty members, administrative officials, student leaders from various organisations, and general students participated in the main Eid congregation, reflecting the inclusive nature of the celebration. The morning atmosphere was marked by devotion and communal harmony, as attendees joined in the collective prayers marking the end of Ramadan.
Following the prayers, a special supplication (dua) was offered, invoking blessings for the nation, its citizens, and the global Muslim community. The prayer emphasised national prosperity, peace, and the well-being of all members of the Ummah.
Professor Dr. Raees Uddin, in his capacity as Imam for the congregation, concluded the ceremony by exchanging Eid greetings with all attendees, sharing in the festive spirit and encouraging unity and mutual goodwill. The event highlighted both the religious significance of Eid and the university’s commitment to fostering community engagement and spiritual observance among students and staff.
The Eid congregation at Jagannath University also provided an opportunity for students and faculty to connect outside academic routines, reinforcing bonds within the campus community and celebrating cultural and religious traditions together.
