Jamaicans Grab Group Lead with Convincing World Cup Qualifying Win

Jamaica claimed the top spot in Group B of the CONCACAF 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, defeating Bermuda 4-0 while Curacao drew 1-1 with Trinidad and Tobago.

The victory propelled the Reggae Boyz to nine points from three wins and one draw, leapfrogging Curacao, who sit on eight points after two wins and two draws. Bermuda, meanwhile, remained winless and were eliminated from World Cup contention.

Two CONCACAF qualifying matches remain for each team next month, with regional tweaks in place for the 2026 North American-hosted World Cup (USA, Mexico, Canada). The last 12 teams were split into three groups, with each group winner qualifying directly for the World Cup, while two runner-up teams face squads from other regions for remaining spots.

Jamaica continued their dominance over Bermuda, remaining undefeated in their all-time rivalry, now with seven wins and two draws.

  • 35th minute: Shamar Nicholson extended the lead to 3-0.
  • 76th minute: Dujuan Richards sealed the 4-0 victory.

Jamaica’s commanding performance ensured they not only gained three points but also demonstrated their attacking prowess and depth in the squad.
