From the early hours of Thursday morning, citizens across the country, including the capital, flocked to polling stations to exercise their democratic right. Among them were prominent figures from the entertainment industry—actors, directors, and singers—who shared their voting experiences and photographs on social media. One of the most notable voters today was the celebrated musician Mahfuz Anam James, widely known as James.

James cast his vote at 3:30 pm at Baridhara Scholar School and College, located in the Baridhara Defence Officers Housing Society (DOHS) area of Dhaka. The polling station falls within the Dhaka-17 constituency.

Upon his arrival, James was warmly received by enthusiastic fans, many of whom gathered to take photographs with him. He graciously obliged requests from fellow voters, election officials, and security personnel for selfies, maintaining a cheerful and approachable demeanour throughout.

Speaking to the press after voting, James expressed his hopes for the nation:

“A vibrant democratic process is the backbone of any country. I hope this tradition continues uninterrupted. May peace prevail, and may the people of our country lead happy and prosperous lives.”

He also commented on the organisation and management of the election, noting:

“Everything ran very smoothly. I arrived, collected my ballot slip, cast my vote, and it was all handled beautifully. There were no complications whatsoever. I thank the current interim government for ensuring a seamless process.”

Following his own vote, James encouraged the other members of his band to exercise their franchise. He contacted several colleagues by phone to inform them that he had voted and to check on their participation, demonstrating his commitment not only to voting himself but also to promoting civic responsibility among peers.

For clarity, the key details of James’s voting experience are summarised in the table below:
