‘Jolly LLB 3’ Faces Legal Trouble Over Controversial Dialogue

The Bollywood film ‘Jolly LLB 3’, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has been embroiled in legal controversies even before its release. The latest objection concerns the way the film allegedly disrespects the Indian judicial system, prompting multiple lawsuits across several cities aimed at blocking its release.

The latest objection centres on the film’s song ‘Bhai Okil Hai’. In the lyrics:

• A judge is referred to as ‘Mama’.
• Dialogue includes references like ‘lawyer’s package deal’, which some legal professionals claim trivialises the judicial process.

Following this, a lawyer from Jabalpur filed a public interest petition, and the Madhya Pradesh High Court has set the hearing for 12 September.

Previous Legal Objections

• Chandravhan Singh Rathore, President of the Ajmer Bar Association, previously demanded a halt to filming.
• Wajid Rahim Khan, a Pune-based lawyer, filed a petition against the film citing that it disrespects the judiciary. Based on this petition, the court issued summons to Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. The hearing for this case is scheduled for October.

Trailer Release Amid Controversy

Despite the ongoing legal disputes, the film’s trailer was released last Wednesday. While maintaining its usual humorous tone, the trailer also hints at serious legal battles and court proceedings, indicating that the film remains a courtroom comedy-drama with both laughter and legal drama.

The official release date of ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is 19 September.
