Despite recovering from injury and not yet regaining his full rhythm, Jude Bellingham has been recognised for his outstanding performance last season by being named England’s Footballer of the Year for 2024–25. The award honours the central midfielder’s exceptional skill and impact on the field.
The Football Association (FA) of England confirmed that Bellingham, now a Real Madrid star, won the accolade based on fan votes.
| Position | Player | Club |
| 1st | Jude Bellingham | Real Madrid |
| 2nd | Declan Rice | Arsenal |
| 3rd | Harry Kane | Bayern Munich |
During the period considered, Bellingham played eight matches for the England national team, scoring one goal. Under interim coach Lee Carsley, England progressed from the second tier of Europe to the top level of the UEFA Nations League. Subsequently, under Thomas Tuchel, the team began its World Cup qualifying campaign, winning all five matches so far.
At just 22 years old, Bellingham is only the second player to win this award while playing for a non-English club. Previously, Wayne Hargreaves achieved this feat in 2006 while at Bayern Munich.
Bellingham underwent shoulder surgery in July and, following a long rehabilitation process, has recently returned to the pitch wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
Previous winners of the award include:
| Year | Player |
| 2023 | Cole Palmer |
| 2022 & 2021 | Bukayo Saka |
This award cements Bellingham’s status as one of England’s premier football talents, demonstrating his influence both domestically and on the international stage.
