‘Kacchi Bhai’ Fined One Lakh Taka for Using Banned Chemicals and Dye

A mobile court in Faridpur has imposed a fine of one lakh Taka on the ‘Kacchi Bhai’ restaurant. The fine was primarily levied for mixing banned chemicals and red fabric dye into food, as well as for maintaining an unsanitary environment.

The operation and subsequent fine were carried out on the night of Tuesday, 12 August.

Details of the Operation:

According to court sources, the operation was based on confidential information. The mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Atikur Rahman, conducted a raid at the restaurant located on the third floor of Zakaria Mansion in the New Market area near Alipur Mor, Faridpur city.

During the inspection, the magistrate found clear evidence of the following:

Official Statement:

Atikur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner of the District Administration and Executive Magistrate, stated:

“A raid was conducted at the Kacchi Bhai restaurant. During the inspection, it was observed that banned chemicals and red fabric dye were being used in food preparation. Additionally, the premises were found to be unhygienic. In accordance with the Safe Food Act, the restaurant has been fined one lakh Taka for these offences.”

This action highlights the authorities’ commitment to ensuring food safety and public health standards in Faridpur.
