Khaleda Zia’s Condition Still Not Out of Danger: Khokon

BNP Joint Secretary General and President of the Narsingdi District BNP, Khairul Kabir Khokon, has said that Begum Khaleda Zia’s condition remains critical. She cannot yet be declared out of danger and is currently under intensive observation in the CCU.

He made these remarks on Wednesday (3 December) while addressing a prayer gathering organised by the Chinishpur Union BNP, seeking the long life and recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia.

Khokon further stated that allegations have emerged that Begum Khaleda Zia was subjected to slow poisoning in an attempt on her life, driven by envy of her soaring popularity. He noted that the entire nation stands with the Zia family and expressed the hope that she will recover for the sake of the country and the state.

He also mentioned that people across the nation are praying that she lives to witness her son assuming state power as Prime Minister. He added that they hope she will be able to see the implementation of the death sentence awarded by the court for crimes against humanity and genocide committed by the fascist government. He said their prayer is that she may also witness the establishment of a government elected directly by the people.

Present at the event were Mohsin Hossain Bidyut, Senior Joint General Secretary of the Narsingdi District BNP; Awlad Hossain Molla, District BNP Sports Secretary; Abdur Rauf Fakir Roni, Secretary for Mass Education; Rafiqul Islam, Member-Secretary of the Chinishpur Union BNP, among others.

The programme concluded with prayers for Begum Khaleda Zia’s swift recovery.
