Laguna Driver Murdered Amid Longstanding Dispute

In a shocking act of violence in the heart of Dhaka, a local Laguna driver, Nur Alam, aged 35, was murdered on Friday afternoon, reportedly due to a longstanding personal dispute. Despite being rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, Nur Alam succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

The tragic event occurred in the Jatrabari area, directly in front of Sufia Garments, according to Raju, the Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Police Station. Preliminary investigations suggest that Nur Alam had been involved in prior altercations with fellow Laguna drivers and local workers. These disputes, which reportedly had a history of tension, are believed to have escalated into the fatal attack.

The police have emphasised that the exact motive will only be confirmed upon the completion of the post-mortem examination.

Officer-in-Charge Raju stated, “Nur Alam’s body is currently at the Dhaka Medical College morgue for post-mortem examination. Our officers are present at the morgue to supervise the process. We are also gathering initial statements from those who had conflicts with him to understand the circumstances surrounding this crime.”

He added, “We cannot confirm whether any other factors contributed to the murder until the post-mortem report is available.” The authorities have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway and that all possible leads are being pursued.
