In Natore, the hanging body of a lawyer named Bhaskar Bagchi (48) has been recovered. The incident occurred on Saturday, 9 October, at around 8:00 PM, when his body was discovered at his residence in the Lal Bazar area of the city.
Bhaskar Bagchi was the son of Chandu Bagchi, a resident of the same area.
According to Iftikhar Khair Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Natore, family members found Bhaskar Bagchi hanging from a stair rod when they returned home in the evening. He was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital, where the attending doctor declared him deceased. His body was subsequently sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
“The exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the autopsy. While initial indications suggest suicide, the matter is being investigated with due seriousness,” ASP Iftikhar Khair Alam said.
The Additional Superintendent of Police also noted that Bhaskar Bagchi was a lawyer at the Natore Judge Court and a former Additional Public Prosecutor. He was remembered as a very cheerful and cultured individual.
