Limon Mia (35), accused of killing Tawsif Rahman Suman (19), son of Rajshahi Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahman, has been placed on a five-day remand for allegedly entering a house and committing the murder. On Saturday (15 November) afternoon, he was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, where Judge Mamunur Rashid granted the remand. The information was confirmed by Rajshahi Metropolitan Court Inspector Abdur Rafiq.
Limon Mia is the son of H. M. Solaiman Shahid from Madanerpaar in Fulchhari Police Station of Gaibandha. Earlier, he was shown arrested in the case filed by the victim’s father and brought to court from Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital. Police sought a seven-day remand, but the court approved five days.
On Thursday (13 November) afternoon, Tawsif was killed at a rented house in the Dabtal area of Rajshahi city. The attacker, Limon Mia, and Tawsif’s mother, Tasmin Nahar Lusi, were also injured during the incident. They had been undergoing treatment at RAMEC Hospital since the event.
On Friday (14 November) afternoon, the victim’s father, Abdur Rahman, filed a murder case against Limon at Rajpara Police Station. Earlier the same day, following the autopsy of Suman’s body, the family took the body from RAMEC Hospital to Jamalpur for burial.
