Lionel Messi’s India Tour Schedule Finalised

Speculation about Lionel Messi visiting India this year has been circulating for some time, and with the passage of time, the likelihood has increased. The dates and schedule for the Argentine superstar’s visit have now been officially confirmed. Branded the “G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) Tour of India 2025”, the tour will commence on 12 December 2025, covering four major Indian cities: Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi.

 

Event promoter Shatadru Dutta confirmed the details to the Press Trust of India (PTI). He revealed that Messi himself will make a formal announcement between 28 August and 1 September 2025.

This will be Messi’s first visit to India since 2011.

 

The tour will begin in Kolkata, where Messi will stay for two days and one night. Highlights include:

  • A Meet & Greet session with fans
  • Special food and tea events
  • Construction of Messi’s largest statue in India, measuring 25 feet in height and 20 feet in width

Additionally, either Eden Gardens or Salt Lake Stadium will host the G.O.A.T Concert and the G.O.A.T Cup.

 

On 13 December, Messi will travel to Ahmedabad to attend an event organised by the Adani Foundation.

 

On 14 December, Messi will be in Mumbai for a Meet & Greet session at the Brabourne CCI Stadium. Key highlights in Mumbai include:

  • G.O.A.T Concert and G.O.A.T Cup at Wankhede Stadium
  • Mumbai Padel G.O.A.T Cup, where Messi will play 5–10 minutes with various celebrities
  • Potential G.O.A.T Captain’s Meet organised by the Maharashtra Cricket Association, possibly featuring India’s cricket legends: Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma
  • Attendance by Bollywood stars such as Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Tiger Shroff

 

Messi’s India tour will conclude on 15 December in New Delhi, where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium is expected to host the finale event, with invitations extended to Indian cricket stars such as Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill.
