Bangladesh will face a stiff challenge against Afghanistan, a team they have encountered multiple times over the past few years. Several Afghan bowlers are also familiar to the Tigers, having played together in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Bangladesh captain Liton Das spoke to reporters yesterday about facing Afghanistan: “I think we’ve played multiple series against Afghanistan recently. A few players might not have participated, but most of our cricketers are familiar with their bowlers. Just a few days ago, the Afghanistan team came to Sylhet and played.”
Liton emphasised that the Tigers have a good understanding of the opposition’s strengths and weaknesses: “So, in my opinion, all our players know where their strengths and weaknesses lie. We will try to tackle them accordingly.”
Afghanistan often relies heavily on spin bowling attacks to trouble opponents. Liton addressed this challenge: “It’s not that they will only try to beat us with spin. We also have options. Our batsmen are ready, and we have pace bowlers as well. We will see what we can do to counter them.”
