The retail price of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas has been reduced and is now being sold at the newly fixed rates. The price of a standard 12 kg cylinder has been reduced by BDT 91, setting the new price at BDT 1,273. In addition, the price of autogas has been cut by BDT 4.18, now standing at BDT 58.28 per litre.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the revised prices on Sunday, 3 August, stating that the new rates would be effective from that evening.

Current vs Previous LP Gas and Autogas Prices

Product Previous Price New Price Price Reduction
12 kg LP Gas Cylinder BDT 1,364 (from 2 July) BDT 1,273 BDT 91 ↓
Autogas (per litre) BDT 62.46 (incl. VAT) BDT 58.28 BDT 4.18 ↓

Background of Price Adjustment

In the previous adjustment on 2 July, the BERC had:

  • Reduced the price of a 12 kg LP gas cylinder by BDT 39, setting it at BDT 1,364.
  • Decreased the price of autogas by BDT 1.84, fixing it at BDT 62.46 per litre (including VAT).

The latest reduction marks a continued effort by the regulatory authority to adjust fuel prices in alignment with market trends and global rates, thereby easing the burden on consumers.
