France’s President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday stressed the critical need to reopen aid routes into Gaza, describing it as a matter of “absolute urgency” to deliver essential assistance to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
Speaking at a press conference in Ljubljana alongside Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, Macron emphasised the fragile state of the territory.
“The situation in Gaza remains very fragile,” he said.
“We wish to remain committed along with our European, Arab and US partners to immediately obtain — and this is a matter of absolute urgency — the reopening of humanitarian sites and routes so that aid, food and basic necessities can be brought to the population.”
