A tragic road accident occurred this morning in Madhabpur upazila of Hobiganj, where a pickup truck lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including a woman and a child. The incident took place at approximately 8:00 AM on Sunday along the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway, in the Andiura area on the Dhaka-bound lane.
According to local police, the pickup veered off the road and overturned into a deep roadside depression. Authorities were alerted immediately, and by 8:30 AM a recovery vehicle (recker) had removed the vehicle from the ditch. Inside the cabin, rescue teams discovered the bodies of four people, among them one woman and one child. The identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.

Shayestaganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge, Abu Taher Dewan, stated: “The cause of the accident is under investigation. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased, and post-mortem procedures are being prepared. Legal formalities will follow accordingly.”
Eyewitnesses indicated that the pickup appeared to lose control possibly due to the depth of the roadside ditch. No official statement regarding vehicle speed or road conditions at the time has yet been released.
