Mahadiya married for love, just like her parents did

Bangladeshi cinema’s beloved 1990s on-screen pair, Nayem and Shabnaz, have celebrated the wedding of their eldest daughter, Mahadiya Nayem. While the couple recently confirmed the news to the media, the nuptials actually took place on 24 December last year.

Actress Shabnaz revealed that a post-wedding reception for Mahadiya was hosted at the prestigious Gulshan Club in Dhaka last December. Speaking about the occasion, she expressed her and Nayem’s heartfelt wishes for the newlyweds, seeking blessings from family, friends, and well-wishers for their future life together.

The wedding ceremony itself was a private, family-centred affair. Mahadiya tied the knot with Ihsan Mansur Chowdhury, with whom she had been in a romantic relationship for some time prior to the marriage. Ihsan Mansur Chowdhury resides with his family in Sydney, Australia.

Mahadiya, though not actively pursuing an acting career, has previously appeared in a popular butter commercial and also built a reputation as a singer. She has now asked for everyone’s prayers and good wishes as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.

Her husband, Ihsan, balances both work and studies abroad, while Mahadiya completed her undergraduate degree in Business Management from a Canadian university. Currently, she has relocated to Sydney, Australia, for further studies. The marriage was solemnised before her departure, ensuring the couple could start their life together abroad without delay.

Nayem shared the joyful news on social media, inviting prayers and blessings for their daughter. Reflecting on the bittersweet emotions of sending Mahadiya abroad, he remarked that while they have experienced similar farewells before, this parting felt uniquely poignant. Shabnaz added that they felt reassured knowing their daughter had joined a loving family and wished the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness and harmony.
