Mbappé delighted to receive the Golden Boot

Real Madrid’s French star Kylian Mbappé has received the European Golden Boot award after scoring 31 goals in La Liga last season.

Mbappé enjoyed a phenomenal campaign for Los Blancos, finishing the season with a total of 44 goals in all competitions. This outstanding performance earned him his first-ever European Golden Boot — an award presented by the European Sports Media to the top scorer across Europe’s major football leagues.

On Friday (31 October), Mbappé was formally presented with the Golden Boot at Real Madrid’s home ground, the Santiago Bernabéu, in the presence of his coach and teammates.

Receiving the award, Mbappé said, “Winning this award for the first time in my career is a great honour for me. I believe we will win many trophies this season as a team. It’s a joy to play for Real Madrid — everyone knows it was my childhood dream. Now I’m living that dream, and I hope to stay here for many years. Thank you to everyone — this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my teammates and fans.”

The French forward has become the third Real Madrid player to win the European Golden Boot. Previously, Cristiano Ronaldo achieved the honour in the 2014–15 season while wearing the Madrid shirt. Ronaldo won the award four times during his career, while Lionel Messi holds the record with six European Golden Boots, all earned while playing for Barcelona.

So far this season, Mbappé is once again the top scorer in La Liga. With 11 goals in 10 league matches and a total of 16 goals across 13 appearances, the French superstar will be determined to claim the next European Golden Boot as well.
